Continued digging Allotment 2

Today I went down onto Allotment 2 once again for another 2 hours and continued digging, this time digging over where the 'Sarpo Mira' potatoes were last year. I also cleared away all the rubbish that I have accumulated on the plot to make it look tidier.

Finished Digging over Onion, Carrot and Parsnip Bed on Allotment 2

Today I went back onto Allotment 2 for another 2 hours and continued to dig over the Onion, Carrot and Parsnip bed. This now means that I will have to start to dig over where the Runner Beans were last year when I am next on the Allotment. I have also started to straighten the edge of the Allotment out.

Even more digging of Allotment 2

Today I went down onto Allotment 2 for 2 1/2 hours and continued to dig over down the very end of the plot near to where the Onion Bed will be this year. I have also dug around the Globe Artichoke. I should be able to finish digging this part of the Allotment tomorrow.

Went onto Allotment 2 and started digging where flower bed will be put

Today I went onto Allotment 2 for 2 hours and started to dig over down the end in front of the Compost bins. Today I started dig over to the front right of the compost bins and this part of the Allotment I appear not to have dug over as it has quite a few bits of wood and plastic in and lots of couch grass and roots of weeds. This part of the Allotment will be a flower bed.

Finished Digging of Vegetable Plot on Allotment 1 and tidied behind the Greenhouse

Today I went down to Allotment 1 for 3 1/2 hours. I finished the digging of the Vegetable plot, which took longer than expected as I had to clear the pathway at the back of the plot, using the hand shears to cut the shrubbery and hedge, and then dig over a few feet extra which was reclaimed from the back pathway. I also straightened the back edge up.

My mum then came down to the Allotment and helped to clear behind the Greenhouse, which means that I have now moved a lot of the canes and bags from behind the Greenhouse, allowing a clear path through here. Some white pebbles were found behind the Greenhouse so these have been sprinkled among the pots containing the Fruit trees, and Blueberries.

The box at the back left hand side of the Greenhouse is currently full up with raised bed boards, however I will move these out in the foreseeable future and find a new home for these and this box will be dismantled as it appears to be falling apart. I will possibly replace this with a new box but will site this behind the Greenhouse and may put my tools in it to keep them dry and get them out of the Greenhouse.

Tomorrow (weather permitting), I plan to finish the tidying up of Allotment 1, by putting manure round the raspberries and loganberries and therefore removing these bags. I also found a bag of seaweed today which was behind the Greenhouse and will put this onto the plot for nutrients. Tomorrow I also plan to weed around Rhubarb to tidy this up and I will try to keep this bed as weed free as possible.

The Fruit Cage will be weeded and manured when I have fully pruned the fruit bushes however this will not be done until at least next week as I will be going to a presentation on Saturday which shows how to prune these properly.

Even more digging of Allotment 1

Today i went down to Allotment 1 for another 3 hours. I continued digging over underneath the groundsheet. I have managed to dig up all the Potato 'Epicure' tubers that I did not get round to harvesting last year and have also started to dig over where the Potato 'Rocket' tubers are, taking these out as I go along.

I didn't quite finish digging over the vegetable plot of Allotment 1 today however I hope to finish this off tomorrow if the weather remains dry. I will also have a little tidy up tomorrow in order to make the plot look a little tidier (remove all the bags on the plot).

Done more digging on Allotment 1

Today I went down onto Allotment 1 for another 2 1/2 hours. Today I went down to the fruit cage
end of the allotment and continued to dig over where I had started to dig over last week. I managed to clear quite a bit of the vegetable plot, managing to dig underneath part of the ground sheet that I
had laid down. This meant that I needed to dig up the Potato 'Epicure' tubers that I did not get round to harvesting last year. As these have been in the ground all winter these have had to be thrown away.

I also managed to finally close the window in the Greenhouse (FINALLY!!!) after month's of it being open. (Hinge on the top needed moving).

I hope to be able to go back down to the Allotment tomorrow to do further digging and by Thursday hope to have finished digging over these vegetable plot.

Done more digging of Allotment 1 and pruned some fruit bushes

Today I went to Allotment 1 for 3 hours despite wet and drizzly weather that we had today. I continued to dig more of the vegetable plot the side the raised beds are. I also started to prune the Blackcurrant and Redcurrant bushes however due to the weather had to stop.
